Our shoulders are one of the most complex joints in our body, and we rely heavily on them for many of our activities such as lifting bags or boxes or children, playing sports, reaching tall shelves, driving, cooking, showering, or even just brushing our teeth.
Of course we realize how much we depend on our shoulders when they hurt and the pain prevents us from being able to do the simplest things like lift a cup of coffee.
Several common shoulder conditions people often experience are tendonitis, rotator cuff injury, bursitis, impingement, and eventually frozen shoulder. The common thread in these painful situations is lack of proper movement of the shoulder complex, which causes inflammation of the tendons involved in moving the shoulder. If it goes on too long, these tendons can start to wear down and eventually lead to a rotator cuff tear – so it’s important to get help soon and not delay.
Improper movement and instability of the shoulder may be caused by tight muscles and fascia and/or overstretched and weakened muscles.
If your shoulders are bothering you, you are in luck!
