Your Organs are in Constant Motion

When you walk, bend, twist, and breathe your internal organs (viscera) move within your abdominal and chest cavities. For example, your kidneys move an inch when you take a breath.  This movement is vital to your health and when you are healthy, these structures move fluidly. When this normal motion becomes restricted, your body is forced to compensate which often leads to functional and structural problems throughout your body.  Loss of motion occurs when tissue in your body becomes inflamed because this results in a decrease of tissue elasticity. Inflammation has many causes including: infections, direct trauma, repetitive motion, diet, environmental toxins, and emotional stress.  Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual (hands-on) therapy that facilitates the release of these restrictions in order to restore normal movement and improve your health.
